NGC 2305 (also ESO 87-44, AM 0648-641 and PGC 19641) is a magnitude +11.8 elliptical galaxy located 160.8 million light-years away in the constellation Volans.

The galaxy was discovered by John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 30th November 1834.

Right Ascension 06h 48m 37.3s, Declination -64° 16' 22"
