NGC 12 (also UGC 74, PGC 645, MCG +1-1-40 ) is a magnitude +13.3 barred spiral galaxy located 183 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road in Slough, Berkshire, on the 6th December 1790.
