NGC 1605 (also OCL 406, Lund 134 and Cr 52) is a magnitude +10.7 open cluster located 8,300 light years away in the constellation Perseus.
The cluster was discovered by German-English astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 11th December 1786.
