NGC 2597 is a pair of magnitude +13.4 stars located in the constellation Cancer. The galaxy NGC 2598 is located near to the double star.
The stars were discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector in Malta on the 1st January 1864.
