NGC 2105 (also ESO 86-SC29) is a magnitude +12.2 open cluster located in the constellation Dorado. The estimated ageof the cluster is about 15 million years.
The cluster was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 2nd January 1837.
As its format is approximately round, it is sometimes mistaken as a globular cluster. Read more
