Mystery of East Yorkshire 'loud explosion' deepens as Met Office says satellite images rule out thunder

Weather experts have ruled out a thunderclap as the reason for a loud bang that woke people up in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Dozens of people from Hull to Withernsea reported hearing the noise rumble the skies over East Yorkshire at about 3.30am.
