NGC 2218 is a possible magnitude +14.0 asterism of four or five stars located in the constellation Gemini. Subsequent observations of that position show no astronomical object.
The asterism was discovered by Irish astronomer Edward Joshua Cooper using a 34.29 cm (13.5 inch) f/22.4 refractor at the Markree Observatory on the 13th January 1853.
