NGC 2149 (also IRAS 06010-0943) is a magnitude +12.6 reflection nebula located 1,300 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. The nebula is just to east of the nearby nebula VDB 66 which surrounds the magnitude +10.22 star BD-09 1310
The nebula was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflecting telescope at the Marseille Observatory on the 17th January 1877.
