NGC 4612 (also UGC 7850, MCG 1-32-134, GWT 42,205, VCC 1883 and PGC 42574) is a magnitude +11.5 lenticular galaxy located 82 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. It is part of the Virgo galaxy cluster. The galaxy is close to the magnitude +9.8 star HIP 61955.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 23rd January 1784.
