NGC 2207 (also ESO 556-8, MCG -4-15-20, UGCA 124, IRAS06142-2121 and PGC 18749) is a magnitude +11.0 almost face-on intermediate spiral galaxy located 81 ±39 million light years away in the constellation Canis Major. NGC 2207 is colliding with the barred spiral galaxy IC 2163 (PGC 018751). The galaxy has hosted Supernova 1975a, supernova 1999ec, supernova 2003H and supernova 2013ai.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 24th January 1835.
