NGC 3635 (also MCG -1-29-9, VV 724, NPM1G -08.0342 and PGC 34717) is a magnitude +14.5 barred spiral galaxy located 317 million light-years away in the constellation Crater. The galaxy is close to NGC 3634 (PGC 34714).
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth using a 66.04 cm (26 inch) refracting telescope at the Leander McCormick Observatory at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia on the 24th January 1887.
