NGC 2522 (also UGC 4218, MCG 3-21-14, GWT 88.31 and PGC 22749) is a magnitude +13.6 lenticular galaxy located 216 million lightyears away in the constellation Cancer.
The galaxy was discovered byGerman astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 26th January 1865.
