NGC 3340 (also UGC 5827, MCG 0-27-42, ZWG 9.101 and PGC 31892) is a magnitude +12.9 face-on spiral galaxy located 225 million light-years away in the constellation Sextans.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 30th January 1865.
