NGC 2348 (also ESO 88-SC1) is a magnitude +12.4 open cluster located 3490 light-years away in the constellation Volans.
The cluster was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 31st January 1835.
