NGC 2917 (also UGC 5098, MCG 0-25-2, CGCG 7-3 and PGC 27207) is a magnitude +13.6 lenticular galaxy located 169 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 6th February 1864.
