NGC 2897 (also NPM1G +02.0220 and PGC 26949) is a magnitude +14.5 spiral galaxy located 323 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. The galaxy is near to the magnitude 8.3 star HD 82089.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 6th February 1864.
