NGC 1699 (also IRAS 04545-0449, MCG -1-13-39 and PGC 16390) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 181 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
The galaxy was discovered by Irish artist Samuel Hunter, assistant to Irish astronomer William Parsons, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) reflecting telescope at Birr Castle on the 13th February 1860.
