NGC 2739 (also MCG 9-15-85, GWT 264.59, KCPG 185A and PGC 25530) is a magnitude +14.7 spiral galaxy located 407 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by Irish astronomer R. J. Mitchell, assistant to William Parsons, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) reflecting telescope at Birr Castle on the 18th February 1855.
