NGC 4527 (also UGC 7721 and PGC 41789) is a magnitude +10.5 intermediate spiral galaxy located 48.9 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 23rd February 1784.
The galaxy hosted supernova 1915A, which was discovered on March 20, 1915.
