NGC 2885 (also IC 538) is a magnitude +13.9 spiral galaxy located 363 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 24th February 1827. The galaxy was rediscovered in March 1890 by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan and relisted as IC 538.
