NGC 2590 (also IC 507, UGC 4392 , MCG 0-22-10 and PGC 23616) is a magnitude +13.1 barred spiral galaxy located 230 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The spiral was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 26th February 1878. The spiral was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in February 1888 and relisted as IC 507.
