NGC 2851 (also MCG -3-24-8 and PGC 26422) is a magnitude +13.4 lenticular galaxy located 239 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.64 cm (16 inch) refractor at the Warner Observatory on the 27th February 1886.
