NGC 4738 (also UGC 7999, MCG 5-30-10 and PGC 43517) is a magnitude +13.4 spiral galaxy located 219 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The galaxy was discovered by astronomer Bindon Blood Stoney, assistant to William Parsons, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 1st March 1851.
