NGC 2858 (also MCG 1-24-17, UGC 4989 and PGC 26556) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 168 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 3rd March 1864.
