NGC 3636 (also MCG -2-29-19 and PGC 34709) is a magnitude 12.4 elliptical galaxy located 80 million light-years away in the constellation Crater. The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector on the 4th March 1786.
