NGC 3122 (also NGC 3110, NGC 3518, IRAS 10015-0614 and PGC 29192) is a magnitude +12.2 barred spiral galaxy located 232 million light-years away in the constellation Sextans.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 5th March 1785. The galaxy was rediscovered by Edouard Stephan in March 1884 and relisted as NGC 3110. The galaxy was rediscovered by Ormond Stone in December 1885 and relisted as NGC 3518.
