NGC 2379 (also UGC 3857, MCG 6-17-6 and PGC 21036) is a magnitude +13.5 lenticular galaxy located 186 million light-years away in the constellation Gemini.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 6th March 1828.
