NGC 2581 (also UGC 4388, MCG 3-22-10, GWT 89.19, IRAS08216 1845 and PGC 23599) is a magnitude +13.5 barred spiral galaxy located 272 million light-years away in the constellation Cancer.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 7th March 1885.
