NGC 4157 (also UGC 7183, MCG 9-20-106, IRAS 12085+5045 and PGC 38795) is a magnitude +11.3 spiral galaxy located 36 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 9th March 1788.
