NGC 2911 (also Arp 232, MCG 2-25-3, UGC 5092 and PGC 27159) is a magnitude +11.5 lenticular galaxy located 146 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. The galaxy is gravitationally interacting with the neighbouring galaxy NGC 2914: these two galaxies are listed as Arp 232 in the Atlas of peculiar galaxies.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 11th March 1784.
