NGC 2827 (also IC 2460, MCG 6-21-9 and PGC 26342) is a magnitude +14.8 edge-on spiral galaxy located 323 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy was discovered by Anglo-Irish astronomer George Stoney using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr castle on the 13th March 1850. The galaxy was rediscovered by Stephane Javelle in February 1900 and relisted as IC 2460.
