NGC 3387 (also ESO 268-40, IRAS 12446-4303, MCG -7-26-46 and PGC 43166) is a magnitude +15.0 compact galaxy located 472 million light-years away in the constellation Sextans.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 15th March 1830.
