NGC 5992 (also IRAS15425+4114, MCG 7-32-49, UGC 10003 and PGC 55913) is a magnitude +13.2 spiral galaxy located 437 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1787.
