NGC 3683 (also IRAS 11247+5709, MCG 10-16-143, UGC 6458 and PGC 35249) is a magnitude +12.5 face-on barred spiral galaxy located 79 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1790.
