NGC 3642 (also IRAS 11194+5920, MCG 10-16-128, UGC 6385 and PGC 34889) is a magnitude +10.8 face-on spiral galaxy located 79 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1790.
