NGC 2704 (also IC 2424, MCG 7-19-5, UGC 4678 and PGC 25134) is a magnitude +13.5 barred spiral galaxy located 327 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th March 1787. The galaxy was rediscovered by Guillaume Bigourdan in March 1882 and relisted as IC 2424.
