NGC 2870 (also IRAS 09241+5735, MCG 10-14-13, UGC 5034 and PGC 26856) is a magnitude +13.0 spiral galaxy located 148 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 19th March 1790.
