NGC 2661 (also IRAS 08432+1248, MCG 2-23-4, UGC 4584 and PGC 24632) is a magnitude +12.8 face-on spiral galaxy located 189 million light-years away in the constellation Cancer.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 19th March 1784.
