NGC 4521 (also NGC 4512, MCG 11-15-61, UGC 7706 and PGC 41621) is a magnitude +12.2 edge-on spiral galaxy located 116 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 20th March 1790. The galaxy was rediscovered by John Herschel in April 1832, and relisted as NGC 4512
