NGC 5459 (also MCG 2-36-37, UGC 9005 and PGC 50215) is a magnitude +13.1 lenticular galaxy located 239 million light-years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 23rd March 1887.
