NGC 4990 (also IRAS 13067-0500, MCG -1-34-4, UGC 8500 and PGC 45608) is a magnitude +13.5 lenticular galaxy located 146 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 23rd March 1865.
