NGC 5059 (also UGC 8344 and PGC 46244) is a magnitude +15.1 edge-on spiral galaxy located 674 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 25th March 1865.
