NGC 2526 (also IRAS 08042+0808, MCG 1-21-12, UGC 4231 and PGC 22778) is a magnitude +13.8 spiral galaxy located 212 million light-years away in the constellation Cancer.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 25th March 1864.
