NGC 2859 (also MCG 6-21-30, UGC 5001 and PGC 26649) is a magnitude +10.9 lenticular galaxy located 83 million light-years away in the constellation Leo Minor.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 28th March 1786.
