NGC 5919 (also PGC 54826) is a magnitude +15.9 elliptical galaxy located 638 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 30th March 1887.
