NGC 2943 (also MCG 3-25-11, UGC 5136 and PGC 27482) is a magnitude +12.4 elliptical galaxy located 385 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) speculum reflector at William Lassell's Tigné Point observatory in Sliema, Malta, on the 1st April 1864.
