NGC 5550 (also MCG 2-36-65, UGC 9154 and PGC 51108) is a magnitude +13.2 spiral galaxy located 341 million light years away in the constellation Boötes.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector on the 4th April 1831.
