NGC 4146 (also MCG 5-29-28, UGC 7163 and PGC 38721) is a magnitude +12.7 face-on barred spiral galaxy located 300 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 6th April 1785.
