NGC 4234 (also IRAS 12146+0357, MCG 1-31-35, UGC 7309 and PGC 39388) is a magnitude +12.7 spiral galaxy located 93 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 7th April 1828.
