NGC 2883 (also IRAS 09232-3353, MCG -6-21-5 and PGC 26713) is a magnitude +14.4 barred irregular galaxy located 54 million light-years away in the constellation Pyxis.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 7th April 1837.
